Love Language - Summer Dust :: Library, 2010 length: 77:15 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Aw mamaaaaa, I wanna go surfinnnnn Notes: These sogns maybe have a mention of water in tham. Also: BonusMIKKSSS!!! Bonus mixes are fun. In addition to appearing in the same month as a mix I already posted, a Bonus Mix is distinctive from a regular mix in that I include songs I would not include in a regular mix, nice songs that are usually too obvious or tempremental maybe or whatever. Like Water Get No Enemy, that is a pretty obvious song, and also pretty temperamental. I think it works out pretty conservatively well, as in not making the mix as a whole lose energy or feel distracted, anyway, so that is all good then. After the Arrested Development song there is more audio from "Odos Onieron" which is mentioned more extensively in last mix's notes. Wow another Arrested Development song, seriously I must like that group or something. That is true. Their first album from 93 is just really, really fresh and good still. Listen to the back half songs. The song on this mix is from their 2006 album "Since the Last Time" which is also a very good album actually. They have a new one this year, I haven't listened to it, I don't feel so sure if it is good since it has not been 13 years since 2006. Also I tried to amend my negligence of the genre of Blues, by putting some blues songs in. In this mix I have put in 2 blues songs. Usually the amount of blues songs is 0 songs, and fixing that is hard. Blues is very rough on mix flow. Blues is a strange music, in that it is very repetitive, but doesn't have a pleasant low-attention mode, it demands a lot of attention to enjoy I feel because the chords are very grounded. Here we have Tamatant Tilay by Tinariwen from their lauded 2007 album, and a live performance by Stevie Ray Vaughan which he gave in August 1984. Mr Vaughan died in August 1990 so it is the 20 year anniversary of that which has been a thing. The recording of this live performance is included in this year's "Couldn't Stand the Weather" reissue by Legacy. Anyway, I figured, I should put blues in this mix, for the sake of the pun. One more note. Curren$y's new album is called "Pilot Talk". I made a mix last December called "Pilot Walk." Basically the same idea, because in my mind when you read "Pilot Walk" your brain expects Pillow Talk. He also made a word up which is the title of this song which is "Skybourne". In February I made a word up (well, it isn't in most dictionaries anyway) for the title of that mix which is "Seaborn" and so actually that is very different, never mind Cover Info: Front and Back Covers: Rain, Rain Go Away and Intimate Spirit by "kktp_". kktp_ uses the flickr disable download feature. Because it's hard being a professional photographer who has $10,000 of kit and makes money by looking at sunsets and women. I mean you have to protect your revenue stream. But he doesn't watermark, so that's alright. Woah all these water metaphors. Small cover People are People by "evatxu". Flickr has changed their code around a bit but you can still save full size files of no-download photos without having to screen-shot just by highlighting a bunch of the page with your mouse that includes the big photo, copying, pasting it into Word, saving that in Word "As a Webpage", then opening the folder of files Word made. Just in case anyone out there felt they are not too lowly and dirty to get to have a 1024px-wide nice picture of a fucking beach that they will never get to visit in person. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
