some people go booo they go qua qua they go peeep I think this mix came out well. The idea was to make a musical retrospective under unconventional terms: it covers the 90s as seen from only two years, 95 and 96. The intro and closer were both new songs, for, uh, added perspective? (also, they have the same title, as you might have noticed! oh.). The axis of the mix, naturally, is thus a classic Gershwin song from the 1940s. The title of this mix bears equally perplexing origins. The line in the song ("Electronic Renaissance") is actually "Monochrome in the Nineteen Ninetees", but one hears what one hears. I have to apologize, too, for the file quality on that song and the one after it, which feature a lot of pixelated hissing (which I can't stand above all other audio pitfalls), but I no longer have those cds on cd. Also, that might be from the original recording. A lot of music is recorded with shallow or swirly digital hissing. Sometimes I have to just press pause and blow air through my teeth to releive the itch in my brain. Cover from Kerri Strug's 1996 Olympics performance. Back Cover from Boris Yeltsin's performance in the 1996 Russian Presidential campaign. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ![]()
