Hey, another mix of nice songs! A two-part super-mix! 90 minutes of nice songs! Gee. Some are new, some are old; some are by crazy foreigners who speak languages nobody even probably understands. A return, yes, to my eclectic, old-music adoring DJ roots. It feels better this way. This one is so thoroughly in the "Vases"-style; DJ Brian Mowrey has finally made the mix he always wanted to make, the critics will say. It's good when they have something interesting-sounding to say, they'll give you a higher number for that sometimes. Precious numbers...

New music! Nomo's Invisible Cities is a great album; they are a really neat jazz-funk outfit out of Detroit! Death's For All the World to See is a fun reissue of a Detroit band's not-quite finished metal album from 1974. Cave's Psychic Psummer pleases highly for being straight-forward and propulsive. Akron/Family's Set 'Em Wild, Set 'Em Free I super recommend; disjointed in tone but universally rewarding. Everyone knows Grizzly Bear. DoOud's Pink Kong is indeed a super-neat album of two French dudes doing American-Turkish-fusion. That's your year in review, internet!

Cover Info
Front and Back Cover: I haven't got cover-image source info this time around. Evidently, some person neglected to forward that important knowledge on, somewhere during the voyage between photographer and russian erotica tumblr-site (the website was russian, the erotica only moderately so) for these fine works. I love the back cover picture; the crop is just brilliant. I am not responsible for that awesome crop but I did adjust the colors on all images. Handsome Vases is the place where I adjust good things and put them together, to feel like a part of the magic.

Small Cover: the new small cover (added August 2010) for this mix is of Yanina Mendoza by Alex Mejia
